Comfortable, fully equipped townhouse in the centre of Cómpeta in the Axarquia, Spain. Cómpeta is a great place for a holiday – easy access to the beach (35 min drive), superb base for walking and wildlife watching, good restaurants, friendly locals, and, above all, good weather all year round!
In the summer months you can swim in the municipal swimming pools in Cómpeta and Canillas de Albaida (three miles from Cómpeta), enjoy the many summer fairs, and, if it´s to hot to be active, lounge on the terrace or in the Plaza Almijara just 50 yards away and watch the world go by.
The autumn months are great for walking and visiting the many local bodegas – the sunsets are stupendous – what better than to take an evening stroll and watch the sun go down.
Winter is also great for walking, although you may get a few days when it rains, there is still plenty to do.Visit the Casa de Cultura, or go on a tour of the church, or take the bus to the coast for a day out. Take a tour of the village (ask at the Town Hall for details). Enjoy Xmas and New Year Spanish style, and visit the celebrations of San Anton in Cómpeta and surrounding villages after the New Year.
Spring is a great time to see birds and flowers in the National Park , and Easter is a great time to be in Spain.
There are lots of activities – go quad biking or horse riding in the mountains. There are a number of walking routes which have been put together by the owners of the house copies of which are in the information packs in the house, and also accessible from www.walkingworld.com. Do a language class at the local language school.
All in all, Cómpeta is a great place to be at any time the year.
